The Beast Among the 7 Seater Cars: Ford Taurus X
If you sit down to write anything about cars in general, then it would be un fair not to mention the name of Henry Ford. Ford company founded by Henry Ford has brought to us many cars that has changed our lifestyle from root up. Today we’d be discussing a little about the 7 seater car from Ford company.
In 2005, Ford introduced their first ever 7 seater car which was named as the Ford Taurus X. Ford Taurus X is also a crossover SUV and you can count it among the few good 7 seater cars. As the Ford company decided to unveil the Ford Flex in 2011, the production of Ford Taurus X was stopped in 2009 itself. But again, you can still find this car for sale anywhere in US and South Korea, Canada.
Ford Taurus X inherits the concept from Ford D3. XC90 is the main platform upon which this car happens to be built. Although the same platform is shared among many cars like the Mercury Montego, Ford five hundred, and also the Volvos, this car looks significantly different than the rest. Ford Taurus embodies the freestyle seat arrangement wherein the seats are split in 3 rows; which is also known as the command style seating. This is one reason as to why the car gets a better H point.
The car has got a V6 Duratec engine that is of 3 liter capacity and is sufficient to produce 203 hp power at 5750 rpm. The engine also uses the CVT technology (Continuously Variable Transmission).
According to Ford sales department, the car was expected to sell around 40%, and it sold a hopping 55% which was much higher than their expectation. This car came out as a very good alternative to the explorers, and it seems people were actually looking for freestyle 7 seater cars.
You still can get this 7 seater car at a bargain price. But keep in mind the fact that it is no more in production, and the same might be the case with the service.
