Curtain rods are a great way to liven up curtains. If you are not fond of rich fabrics with bold prints or even nautical stripes, you may choose to go with a simple fabric and accessorize with an ornate rod. They are also an option if your curtains are rich and bold but you want to add a bit of texture by adding a metal element or just tone it down a bit without having to compromise too much. A unique design on a curtain rod may just be all you need to tie your theme together and make it all make sense.

The nice thing about curtain rods is that if your pocket is a little deeper than most, you can design your own and have them made to suit your taste and needs. However, there is no actual need to do this as many different designs are readily available. All you need to do is take some time out to look for them because not all stores will stock the very ornate kind.

Curtain rods can be made of anything from wood to metal to wrought iron to aluminum. All you need to decide on your preference and choose one that embodies your desired theme. Another nice thing about them is once you get a bit tired of the rod, there is nothing stopping you from removing it and going with a rod made of a different material or color.

It does sound like these rods can be expensive but I found that they are rather reasonably priced, so obviously the more ornate the rod more expensive it will be. But of course there is always something to fit every pocket.

This is definitely a concept that I would try as it gives a person many options and allows one to be imaginative without having to rely solely on the fabric used on the curtains or furniture already in the room. You can be adventurous and bring in a unique sense of character to any room without having to tear your hair out in frustration!
