Sony and Microsoft have already said that they will not be coming out with a new console, upgrades for the PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively, for about another 5 years. But, obviously they’ll want to be making money, and so each of them is coming out with a motion control device. Sony is coming out with a wand similar to the Wii’s remote, but better. Microsoft is going a whole new direction with their offering, a camera that can track full body movements. Project Natal is the codename for Microsoft’s accessory for the Xbox 360.  There are many different things you’ll be able to do with Project Natal, so I am going to go into what you can expect from it.

A New Experience

You’re definitely going to have a new gaming experience if you end up buying Project Natal. Just like the Nintendo Wii did for video gaming, Project Natal will definitely go a step further. You’ll be amazed how you’ll be able to incorporate kicks, punches,as well as moving your head and entire body in able to control stuff on the screen. This will be awesome for fighting games like martial arts, boxing, etc. Developers will also find new ways to use all of this movement they now have available to them.

Voice Control

Project Natal is supposed to have voice control and voice recognition capabilities. Not only will you be able to speak out commands to your games, but you’ll also be able to have multiple people in the room, and the device will be able to recognize the different people. This will be great for social games and party games, allowing whoever’s turn it is to speak out what game they want to play next. Or, if there’s a game show or trivia game, you’ll be able to speak out the answers.

There are many more experiences that we can’t think of yet, but that developers will come up with to entertain us, and give us a new experience.
